Brand Engineer
About us
brand.ai is the system of record for brand. Brand is not a logo or a set of guidelines. It is the accumulated judgment of a company, and it shows up in every product decision, every piece of work, every customer interaction. The brand teams we work with are custodians of that judgment while thousands of hands produce against it. brand.ai gives them a way to encode what they know, then put it to work across the AI tools their company already uses.
We believe brands are built by people. Taste, judgment, and repetition over time are what make a brand. AI is a tool for the people who have those things. It is not a replacement for them.
We're a small team, and we run things differently. The brand team at brand.ai is not only a marketing function. We are across delivery as well. The same people who shape how brand.ai thinks about brand embed with customers and make their brands run on the platform. This role sits at the center of that.
About the role
A brand engineer embeds with a customer's brand and marketing team and does the work that makes their brand run inside brand.ai. You take guidelines, decks, asset libraries, research, and years of undocumented habit and turn it into brand source code, the structured foundation the platform reasons from. Then you build, test, and ship the AI skills and workflows that put that brand to work.
Part brand thinker, part creative technologist, part producer. It's a hands-on role. The value of brand.ai inside an account is realized by the person in this seat.
On a given day, across a few accounts, you'll ingest assets, audit files, cross-reference guidelines against how a brand actually shows up, write and test skills, and run the first proof points that show a brand's judgment can be operationalized. You'll partner with Solutions and Success, who own the customer relationship, with Design, who build on the brand data you prepare, and with Product, as one of the heaviest users of the platform.
What you'll do
- Embed with customers' brand and marketing teams and learn their world cold
- Build brand source code. Ingest context and assets, audit files, and cross-reference guidelines against real output
- Write, test, and refine AI skills and workflows, from first proof points through production use
- Make the call. Know what's on-brand, what's a gap, and what needs a decision from the customer, and say so
- Build personalized demos and POC use cases that show a prospect their own brand running on brand.ai
- Work with Solutions and Success to keep the engagement moving. Configure workspaces, sequence work, flag risks, hold the schedule
- Spot what else a customer could do with the platform and raise it
Who you are
- 5+ years doing hands-on brand or creative work. Design, art direction, copy, motion, brand operations, or creative technology. You've built things that shipped under a brand's name
- You can look at a piece of output and tell whether it's on-brand, and explain why in a sentence
- You write well. Clear, specific, and quick
- You already build with AI every day. You write prompts and skills, test them, throw them out, and rebuild them. You've automated something for yourself that you were tired of doing by hand. Coding is a plus, not a requirement
- You think in systems. You can hold a brand as architecture, trace how the pieces connect, and notice when one source contradicts another
- You are detail obsessed and comfortable running the details of a complex project without being asked
- You get in and do the work
We don't expect any one person to be equally strong at all of this. We're hiring for a shared core and for what each person adds on top. If you lean design, copy, motion, or engineering, tell us.
How we hire
Send your resume and one thing you've built with AI tools (a skill, a workflow, an automation, a system) with a short note on what it does and what you learned. Strong candidates get a short take-home exercise built on a real brand's materials, then a conversation with the team.
